Aim:

This one year course aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and competence in the art of hospitality. Students will develop a range of hospitality service skills including customer relations, service and accommodation maintenance and food and beverage preparation. This course was developed in response to the recognised skills and employment shortages currently being experiencedwithin this industry in Ireland.

Entry Requirements:

Applications are invited from those who have completed the leaving certificate (traditional or LCA) or LCVP or other equivalent qualifications. Mature students are also welcome to apply. All applications will be interviewed.

Progression and Career Options:

Students who successfully complete this programme will achieve the Level 5 Certificate in Hospitality Operations 5M2083. Graduates may opt to progress directly into employment in hotels, restaurants bars and other organisations involved in the hospitality and food and beverage industry. Alternatively graduates may progress to a programme leading to a level 6 QQI Certificate or apply to progress to the Institutes of Technology or Universities to pursue further study.
