Art and Design: Portfolio Preparation Apply Online

Aims
To give students the opportunity to make an informed decision about courses in Colleges of Art and Design, and careers in Art related areas.
Students will develop skills in the handling of media, and an understanding of the basic concepts governing the use of different media. Students will also develop a sense of craftsmanship and an appreciate of those skills and efforts required to achieve work of quality.

Entry Requirements
Applications are invited from students who have completed Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Applicants will be invited for interview and to present examples of previous work. Mature students and recent school leavers are also welcome to apply.

Career Prospects
Portfolio preparation is the main component of this Course. Students will continue their studies in their chosen area of specialism at third level colleges of Art & Design, or to a career in a related area, through the Presentation of a Portfolio.

Validation
