	Special Needs Assistant/Classroom Assistant Apply Online Aims This course will provide students with the knowledge, skills and qualifications necessary to pursue a career in the area of caring for children. This childcare course will offer additional opportunities for students who wish to specialise in working as a Special Needs Assistant or a Classroom Assistant. Entry Requirements Applications are invited from those who have completed Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Applications are also welcome from mature students and recent school leavers. All applicants will be interviewed. Career Prospects Students can undertake further study at Level 6 Advanced Certificate (evenings), or go directly into the world of work in nurseries, crèches, play groups, family centres and community childcare. The special needs options also offer opportunities for specialisation as a Class room Assistant or as an SNA in schools and colleges.
