Applied Social Studies Apply Online

Aims
This one year course is designed to provide an introduction to the theory and practical aspects of social studies and social care. The wide range of modules offered enables students to gain a critical awareness of the way in which society works.

Entry Requirements
Applications are invited from those who have completed Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Mature students are also welcome to apply. Good writing skills are an essential requirement. Two written references must be presented at interview. Students must apply for Garda Clearance at Registration in September.

Career Prospects
FETAC graduates will have a nationally recognised qualification enabling them to seek employment in the caring services, youth, family and community work, or to apply to the following colleges (and some universities):
DKIT and Blanchardstown (Applied Social Care); Athlone and Waterford IT (Applied Social Studies); Tralee IT (Health & Leisure Studies); Carlow and Sligo IT (Applied Physiology and Health Science).
